Nel 2018 Artissima continua la sua partnership con Irinox, la compagnia di Treviso che è leader nella produzione di condizionatori d'aria. Per il secondo anno consecutivo, Refresh Irinox Prize si concentra sulla sezione Disegni della Fiera.
Disegni presenta i lavori di 23 artisti, rappresentati da 24 gallerie (16 foreign, 8 Italian), selezionate per il secondo anno da un eccezionale duo: João Mourão e Luís Silva, direttori della Kunsthalle Lissabon di Lisbona.
The international jury of the prize, composed of Naomi Beckwith, senior curator of MCA Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Fernanda Brenner, founder and director of PIVO in São Paulo, and Sohrab Mohebbi, curator at the SculptureCenter of Long Island, will choose the artist that most vividly conveys the expressive immediacy of drawing in a contemporary approach.
Refresh Irinox Prize, initiated in 2017 and sponsored by Irinox, has now grown, and besides the award assigned by the international jury, also includes an acquisition made by Irinox, selecting one work from the various stands of the Disegni section.
In its second years, Disegni is the section that examines drawing, an artistic practice capable of capturing the process and thinking of the creative gesture, in a space suspended between the idea and the finished work: a medium of expression that is going through a period of renewed popularity and is expanding its market, especially among new collectors.
Once again this year, Artissima and Irinox, joining forces to organise Refresh Irinox Prize, confirm their commitment to in-depth research on contemporary art, its aesthetic evolution and contaminations.
