Love This Giant si è sviluppato come molti di New York City da un' amicizia. Entrambe le parti sono un po 'confuse su come è cominciato, ma dopo un paio di semi-casuali incontri, David Byrne e Annie Clark, che registra e si esibisce come St. Vincent, ha intrapreso un dialogo creativo che si è sviluppato nel corso degli ultimi tre anni.
David Byrne con il proprio approccio alla musica pop ha dat origine ad un ampia nuova generazione di artisti indipendente-mente a Brooklyn e non solo, tra cui Clark, che ha costruito le sue registrazioni in camera da letto per diversi anni, prima di assumere pubblicamente il moniker di San . Vincent.
In un primo momento non vi era alcuna struttura ed il loro obiettivo era puramente una situazione di "what if". Ma poi Clark ha avuto l'idea strana ma alla fine brillante che scrivono con tanto di banda larga in mente, e che quando hanno cominciato a collaborare sul serio. Anche se Byrne e Clark hanno ciascuno un suono inconfondibile e persona che li hanno resi tali interpreti convincenti, in quanto tali, le loro voci riescono a fondere naturalmente, senza sforzo, qui. Gli ottoni danno ai brani uno splendore attraente teatrale mentre le percussioni programmate forniscono un tocco di contemporaneità.
Happenstance possono avere portato questi artisti insieme, ma il lavoro che hanno fatto come una coppia si sente più simile al destino.
