Con l’album d’esordio, Inform Educate Entertain, hanno ammaliato la stampa inglese con il loro sound evocativo e futurista. Ideatori di un concept live senza precedenti, uniscono suoni analogici ad effetti digitali che, grazie all’utilizzo di apparecchiature audiovisive d’epoca, miscelano alla musica le immagini di filmati e speakerati d’epoca.

Si preannuncia un novembre ricco di novità per il duo funk-interstellare tra i più chiaccherati ed apprezzati. Durante il loro lungo tour che li portati a suonare in prestigiose location e solcare i palchi dei più importanti Festival estivi - tra cui Glastonbury e Benicassim – i Public Service Broadcasting annunciano l’uscita di Sputnik/Korolev, l’ EP che contiene il singolo Sputnik, il brano più dancefloor friendly tratto da The Race For Space, 4 remix realizzati da importanti nomi del panorama electro-dance, e Korolev, un inedito carico di energia e di riff contagiosi e potenti. I remixes di Sputnik sono stati realizzati da Blond:Ish, Petar Dundov, Eagles & Butterflies e Plugger.
Mentre Sputnik fu il primo satellite artificiale lanciato in orbita intorno alla Terra il 4 ottobre 1957, Korolev è invece un omaggio al più grande ingegnere e progettista di razzi sovietici, conosciuto semplicemente come il “miglior progettista”, nonchè inventore e disegnatore di Sputnik. La sua morte improvvisa nel 1966 ebbe un enorme impatto nella guerra fredda tra Russia ed America, permettendo così agli Stati Uniti di detenere il primato del primo uomo mandato sulla luna.
Il nuovo album, The Race For Space, è uscito il 23 febbraio (Test Card Recordings/Goodfellas), riscuotendo un successo inaspettato e racconta la storia della corsa nello spazio a cavallo tra gli anni 1957-1972. La doppia copertina rappresenta le vicende americane e sovietiche di quegli anni, narrate attraverso un eccentrico mix di chitarre, propulsioni elettroniche e batterie, accompagnate da speakerati d’epoca. “With our album and our music we are attempting to translate into our own voices a celebration of that period, in the process communicating something of ourselves and our faith in the technological progress of our species, and it is on those terms that I’d hope our album is judged.” – Public Service Broadcasting.
Public Service Broadcasting tornano in tour a novembre per una serie di prime date in UK - a cui si aggiungeranno altri appuntamenti europei - a partire da Edinburgo (già sold-out) fino alla prestigiosa Brixton Academy a Londra, ad oggi il live più importante nella carriera della band.
